How Do I Navigate Islam as a Female Convert/Revert That Has Been Married to a Non Muslim Man?

Q: How do I navigate Islam as a female convert/revert that has been married to a Non Muslim man for a longer time than being Muslim? It seems pointless to be Muslim when I am being told I should leave the only man that has ever allowed and encouraged me to practice Islam and that our relationship is haram and that we are committing zina.

A:  Never feel lie it is pointless to be Muslim. You are doing great, and may Allah (swt) give you the strength to continue on your journey. I think the best thing you can do is never give up, but continue praying and making dua to Allah (swt) to strengthen your faith and religion. Pray to Allah (swt) to guide your husband to Islam as well, and Insha’Allah, Allah (swt) will guide him too. Maybe share and have discussions of Islam with him. If there is something he doubts, try to give answers. The more you try, the more Allah (swt) will see your struggles and give you strength.

Remember that in the Qur’an it states, [Quran 39:53]: “O My servants who have transgressed against yourselves by sinning, do not despair of the mercy of Allah. Indeed, Allah forgives all sins. Indeed, it is He who is the Forgiving, the Merciful.”
